Striking a balance between work and life a problem for small business owners

- April 29, 2019 < 1 MIN READ

Research by GoDaddy has found small business owners continue to have an issue when it comes to creating work-life balance.

51 per cent of small business owners surveyed said they have trouble switching off from work while 41 per cent admitted that they often get pulled away from family matters to take care of business.

Over half of the respondents (54 per cent) said they were concerned with making enough money to keep their business afloat.

One in five business owners surveyed (22 per cent) said that right now is the most stressed they’ve ever been about their business.

In fact, the average small business owner loses four hours of free time a week handling business matters. Is it any wonder they are stressed?

With only 29 per cent of small business owners saying they feel they have a healthy work-life balance, it seems owning a business and trying to enjoy life outside work can be a balancing act.

The survey found the top two ways business owners can create a better work-life balance is by taking a vacation and taking better care of themselves.
