Using Twitter can be frustrating for many business owners as it can feel like you’re sending your 140 character messages out into the digital abyss. You’ve probably been told that it is a great place to tell your stories, make new connections and engage with customers but this isn’t easy if you’re constrained by time and resources.
In response, Twitter has built a brand new app to help busy small business owners.
Enter, Twitter Dashboard.
“Twitter Dashboard is a powerful tool designed to help businesses connect with their customers and community. Today we’re offering a free tool to give all businesses an advantage in the way they use Twitter. With an iOS app and desktop web experience, Dashboard offers a single destination to get things done. It gives business owners a clear picture of what’s being said about their businesses, lets them schedule tweets, and offers insights about their tweet performance.”
Engaging with your audience in real-time
You can use the platform to curate and create a custom feeds to find out what’s being said about your business. Using this tool helps you save time and see the most important tweets first so you can better engage with your community. For instance, if you run a hairdressing salon, you may see a tweet from a customer who has a question about your hours. Or, if you own cafe, you might see a tweet from a potential customer talking about one of your products.
“The ability to see these tweets at a glance offers endless opportunities for you to connect with customers and potential customers with responses that add value,” says Twitter.
Schedule and simply
To make sure your tweets reach your customers when they’re online, you can use the platform to schedule to go out when your audience is active. As you’re not always sitting at your computer, you can now edit your scheduled tweets as you’re on the go using the iOS Dashboard app.
Not sure what to tweet?
Businesses needing inspiration and tips for tweeting can use the platform to kickstart their creative process, start conversations and engage with their audience even when they’re not sure what to write. For instance, to promote your restaurant, they offer the advice, “Your team is as unique as your business. Tweet a surprising fact about one of your team members,” to remind you to share some recent recognition your chef received. Or if you’re an interior designer, they give you the prompt, “Share the love. Like and Retweet kind words from your customers.”
Logan Robinson from Garnet and Gold has integrated the platform into their social media strategy and said, “Being able to easily schedule Tweets and manage my queue with Twitter Dashboard is critical to staying on track with our engagement campaigns on Twitter.”
Jeff Kitchen from Crutchfield has been using the platform and said, “From our first use we could tell Twitter Dashboard would become an essential tool for our business. Not only is scheduling Tweets now a seamless experience, but having access to a custom timeline is helping us identify the best opportunities to engage with our customers and potential customers on Twitter.”
