According to a recent survey of more than 1000 business owners from Sensis, the number of small and medium businesses in Australia who support marriage equality has increased. This has risen from 55 percent in 2015 to 63 percent in 2016. And 67 percent of respondents say they personally support marriage equality.
The most supportive industries? Business owners in areas such as communications, business services, property, healthy and community services. The finance and insurance sector are offering the most support with 78 per cent agreeing with marriage equality.

“Much has been spoken about large corporates and organisations supporting marriage equality, the evidence is now in that small and medium businesses – the back bone of the Australian economy – also support this initiative,” said Sensis CEO John Allan.
He added, “Further, in asking SMBs if the passage of marriage equality laws by Federal Parliament would have an impact on their business – a resounding 87 percent said they thought it would have either a positive change or no impact at all. Only two percent said it would have a negative impact.”
