Small Business Roadshow kicks off in Adelaide

This week the Small Business Minister Michael McCormack will be heading the Small Business Roadshow which kicks off in Adelaide today. He says, “Tax cuts, reductions in red tape and levelling the playing field for small business through fairer competition policy is front and centre in a nationwide roadshow.”

The roadshow begins in suburban Adelaide with the Minister meeting directly with small businesses over shop counter, farm gates and kitchen tables in home businesses. Minister McCormack is continuing his fight for a fair deal for Australia’s 2.1 million small businesses.

Minister McCormack says, “There is no better way to understand the needs and aspirations of Australia’s small businesses than to meet with them directly – in their shops, farms and officers – to hear firsthand how the Government can help.”

He adds, “The Coalition has delivered a lot for small business in red tape reduction, the instant asset write-off programme and protecting our owner-driver truckies, just to name a few, but I know there is more work to do.”

Minister McCormack will be joined by senior staff from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman and the Australian Tax Office to embark on a nationwide roadshow to demonstrate services they have for small business.

Minister McCormack has stressed about delivering tax cuts to the lowest level for small business in 50 years and ensuring that the playing field is being levelled for small business.

“It is small business – not Government – which creates jobs, higher wages and better opportunities for Australians, not from the inland to the coast, in the cities and the suburbs, as well as across rural and regional Australia,” he says.

Then adds, “That’s why I have brought bureaucracies from Canberra here to listen with me as we all work to cut taxes and improve small business competitiveness.”
