Tech startup, i=Change is launching Shop for Change this International Women’s Day (IWD). During the 24 hours over IWD, retail partners such as Camila, Pandora and Nobody Denim will donate $5 from every purchase to women and girls’ empowerment projects in Australia and around the globe.
Shop for Change marks the first time Australian shoppers will be able to participate in a global event aimed at raising awareness for women and girls.
‘International Women’s Day has always been a day to acknowledge both the progress and significant challenges still facing women and girls globally. We wanted to create a way Australians could engage and shop for change, to raise much-needed funds to meaningfully impact these issues,” says founder Jeremy Meltzer.
I=Change has already successfully raised over a million dollars from donations from their retail partners. This has been achieved by brands committing $1 from every sale and allowing their customers to choose where the donation goes. All donations can be tracked in real time to see the impact of the change.
To date, 257,850 people across 14 countries have been assisted by the program.
