We’ve spent the last month on the hunt for Australia’s most innovative businesses for our inaugural INNOV8RS competition in partnership with Peugeot.
After much deliberation, we selected 24 finalists from your nominations to battle it out for the title. Then we put it in your hands to vote for the business you thought deserved the honour of the 2021 INNOV8R.
Today we can finally reveal who has come out on top.
The business you’ve selected as our INNOV8R is FoodByUs.
Meet our INNOV8RS’ winner
Founded by the team behind Menulog, FoodByUs uses technology to connect restaurants, caterers and more to wholesalers and food producers. They are passionate about hospitality and innovation and helping restaurants thrive.
Ben Lipschitz, co founder and MD of FoodByUs said he is proud FoodByUs has been recognised as ‘Kochie’s Business Builders Innov8r’ for 2021.
“It’s a testament to the team’s passion and dedication to building a technology solution for the hospitality industry, said Lipschitz.
“At FoodByUs creativity and innovation is in our DNA, so this acknowledgement is incredibly exciting. Thank you to the organisers and everyone who voted, your support is much appreciated.”
INNOV8RS spotlight on business
Cec Busby, editor of Kochie’s Business Builders said the INNOV8RS competition has shone a light on a number of unsung heroes across the small business space whose sometimes simple tweaks have led to industry innovations.
“it was incredible to see the scope of products and services our INNOV8R finalists had on offer. When you think of innovation, you often think of big business and you definitely think of technology. And yes there was a fair share of tech-based innov8rs on our finalist list. But what perhaps was most interesting, was the way some businesses had eschewed the modern and returned to traditional practices to deliver innovative products. And it’s delightful to see some of these made it to our final 8.
Our inaugural INNOV8RS are:
NSW (and overall winner)
Food By Us
VIC
Eloments Vitamin Tea
ACT
Brainchanger
TAS

SA

“It was an incredibly close competition,” said Busby. “I want to congratulate all 24 of our finalists for making Australia a better place with their business innovations and I look forward to hearing more about their stories as we interview them in the coming weeks.
