Genoise health win the 2017 business of the year
GenWise members celebrate their Telstra Business Award win.

Nominations are now open for the prestigious annual Telstra Business Awards. Now in their 26th year, the awards shine a spotlight on the best small to medium businesses (SMB) and charities around the nation.

The awards mark Telstra’s commitment to Australia’s SMBs, providing them with a chance to shine. Apart from the prestige that comes with winning an award, winners receive access to a range of prizes including masterclasses and business benchmarking.

Vicki Brady, Telstra Business Awards Ambassador and Group Executive, Consumer and Small Business, said Telstra is proud of its commitment to SMBs and the Awards are a manifestation of that commitment.

“As a technology company and trusted advisor to SMBs, we are proud to be able to continue empowering businesses by providing them with the tools they need to enable their future success, and we’re there to celebrate with them with these awards.

“From the personalised Business Benchmark Report and networking opportunities to the national recognition finalists and winners receive, the Telstra Business Awards not only support innovation and inspiration in our business community, they provide businesses with the chance to unlock their potential.

Brady told Kochie’s Business Builders the awards provide an opportunity for Australia’s brightest business minds to step up and reflect on their hard work.

One such business is South Australia’s GenWise Health, which took out the 2017 Telstra Australian Business of the Year award. Co-founder Dr Sebastian Rees, encouraged all Aussie businesses to put themselves forward for the awards, suggesting the win had provided a significant impact on the health of his business.

“We’ve had a surge in new enquiries from key stakeholders in our industry. It has been invaluable in raising our profile in the aged-care and health sectors,” he said.
