- October 4, 2016 2 MIN READ

An Adelaide woman who heads up a successful solar panel business is the 2016 Telstra South Australian Business Woman of the Year, announced at the 2016 Telstra South Australian Business Women’s Awards in Adelaide.

Jenny Paradiso is the co-founder and managing director of Suntrix, a multi-million dollar national solar panel business that helps individuals and businesses save money on their electricity costs, while at the same time reduce their carbon footprints.

Paradiso is also the winner of the 2016 Telstra South Australian Business Women’s Entrepreneur Award.

This is not the first year Paradiso has been recognised for her achievements – under her leadership, Suntrix was also named the 2013 Telstra South Australian Business of the Year.

Paradiso possesses strong CEO characteristics and values and has transformed her business through the clever diversification of products and markets. In addition, she meaningfully gives back to her industry, community and family.

Paradiso said the key to her ongoing success has been her dedication to the company.

“I see myself as the mother of the business – always looking at the current and future welfare of her child, supporting and encouraging growth and independence and making sacrifices when needed.”

Other business women recognised at the 2016 Telstra South Australian Business Women’s Awards are: Sarah Powell from Champions Academy (For Purpose and Social Enterprise Award), Dr Joanne Bowen from the University of Adelaide (Public Sector and Academia Award), Darlene Mattiske-Wood from People’s Choice Credit Union (Corporate and Private Award), and Grace Lever from GraceLever.com (Young Business Woman of the Year).

Joe Pollard, Telstra Business Women’s Awards Ambassador, Group Executive Media, and Chief Marketing Officer, said that the South Australian winners are exceptional business women.

“The winners of the 2016 Telstra South Australian Business Women’s Awards are brilliant, passionate and courageous women who are thriving in their chosen fields. Not only do they have the courage to challenge the status quo but they also demonstrate exceptional business acumen and strong leadership skills,” said Pollard.
