Jackie McArthur from logistics service provider, Martin Brower, is the 2016 Telstra New South Wales Business Woman of the Year, announced at the 2016 Telstra New South Wales Business Women’s Awards in Sydney.

Jackie McArthur is the Managing Director Australia and New Zealand for Martin Brower, where she supervises the end-to-end logistics and supply chain for more than 1,100 McDonald’s restaurants.

McArthur also won the 2016 Telstra New South Wales Business Women’s Corporate and Private Award.

McArthur’s cross-functional experience, from supply chain to real estate and construction to menu development and marketing, has provided her with the diverse skill-set required to excel in leadership.

McArthur said that her success has been possible due to taking the opportunities she was given and having leaders trust her to tackle each role with aplomb.

“All of the roles I have had were the result of someone believing in me being able to take a step outside of what I was good at. Someone has to believe in you enough to take a calculated risk. It is now my privilege to be able to do this for others.”

Driving a more diverse workforce, particularly in the male-dominated industry of transport and logistics, is a key passion of McArthur’s. Together with her colleagues, she is forging a new path of diversity in the organisation.

Other business women recognised at the 2016 Telstra New South Wales Business Women’s Awards are: Irene Falcone from Nourished Life (Entrepreneur Award), Anne Bryce from Achieve Australia (For Purpose and Social Enterprise Award), and Gina Lednyak from L&A Social (Young Business Woman of the Year).

Joe Pollard, Telstra Business Women’s Awards Ambassador, Group Executive Media, and Chief Marketing Officer, said that the New South Wales winners are exceptional business women.

“The winners of the 2016 Telstra New South Wales Business Women’s Awards are brilliant, passionate and courageous women who are thriving in their chosen fields. Not only do they have the courage to challenge the status quo but they also demonstrate exceptional business acumen and strong leadership skills,” said Pollard.

Now in their 22nd year, the Telstra Business Women’s Awards are Australia’s longest running and most esteemed women’s awards program in Australia. They recognise and reward the courage, leadership and creativity of brilliant business women.
