AussieBum founder and director Sean Ashby was grinning from ear to ear after walking away with a trio of gongs at the Sydney City Business Awards.

Ashby was on hand to receive the Excellence in Business, Excellence in Export and overall Regional Business award at the City of Sydney event held at Town Hall.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the awards help showcase the diversity and achievements of the city’s  dynamic business community.

“I’m sure all the businesses will use their prestigious wins to create new opportunities for growth locally and globally,” the Lord Mayor said.

Moore suggested we should not underestimate the contribution of small business, describing them as the “lifeblood of the city’s economy”.  The Lord Mayor said small business contribute an estimated $20 billion to the local economy and account for 85 per cent of the city’s business.

Local menswear designer aussieBum have become a firm favourite with consumers over the years growing from a small enterprise to an international business.

Ashby described the brand’s win as  a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their success with colleagues and other business owners.
