Google has launched a free digital skills hub aimed at providing every Australian with the digital skills they need in order to make the most of the web.
Grow with Google was launched at a special event in Sydney’s west attended by over 500 members of the business, school and local community.
Google Australia’s Managing Director, Mel Silva said the digital opportunities for Australian businesses and individuals were huge, yet many Australians don’t feel they have the skills to make the most of these opportunities.
“Australians want the chance to learn new digital skills – that’s why we’re launching Grow with Google to create opportunities for everyone to make the most of the web, whether you’re a student, a job-seeker or a business wanting to get online” Silva said. “We’re excited to expand our digital skills offering for more Australians, building on our existing digital skills programs.”
Google first launched their Google Garage training programs in Australia in 2014 and have trained nearly half a million people across Australia through online and in-person training sessions, as well as curriculum integrated through school and partner programs. The brand sees the new Grow with Goole service as an extension of this popular service.
“For Australians at all points on the digital journey, there are significant benefits to getting online – Grow with Google includes lessons on everything from building your CV online, to starting a website or creating a digital marketing plan.”
