The founders of Applejack explain how they carved a niche in the hospitality industry with their new style of venues that the punters are lapping up.
Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts first met working in hospitality over a decade ago. The pair were employed by a large hotel group when they realised they had a shared passion and vision for the future of the industry.
In 2011 they quit their day jobs and opened their own business, Applejack Hospitality, with a goal of opening five venues in five years.
The pair used the profits from their first business to reinvest in their next venture and so on to continue to build their hospitality empire.
The duo now have seven venues in their business, ranging from cafes to bars to a microbrewery.
