Social media scheduling platform Hootsuite now has video integrations with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The change means that small businesses can easily manage and publish their videos directly from the single platform. Previously users were limited to managing posts with only text and images.
The video integrations will ultimately reduce the complexity of monitoring multiple social media accounts and help to improve engagement with customers. It is important for small businesses wanting to get the most out of their video content, increase reach and streamline the time spent on updating their social media accounts.
Video as a communication tool is increasingly important for businesses in interacting with their digital audiences. In the past 12 months, Facebook has seen a doubling of ideas daily video views to 8 billion and Youtube has reached 1 billion users. Twitter users are more likely to retweet posts with video and the the time users spend watching video content has soared on Instagram by 40 percent in the last 6 months.
“These integrations will better support our clients who are investing in video for broad appeal, promotion and education to really engage and grow their audience,” said Ryan Holmes, CEO of Hootsuite.
With the YouTube integration in particular, Hootsuite said businesses will be able efficiently manage content discovery, campaign execution, insights and analytics using the app.
Small businesses should embrace the move as it will allow them to multiply a video’s impact, grow their audience, respond faster to comments by customers, monitor competitors and seamlessly manage content whether they are in the office or on the go.
The move comes on the back of last month’s announcement that Hootsuite will revolutionise social selling for small businesses having acquired mobile app Sales Prodigy. Soon business users will also be able to engage with prospective customers and drive sales on its platform using the sales technology.
