BPAY making it easier to donate to drought affected farmers

- February 11, 2020 < 1 MIN READ

BPAY has joined forces with Rural Aid to make it simpler for the charity to accept donations to drought-affected farmers.

Rural Aid is one of Australia’s largest rural charities, which provides financial assistance and support to farmers in times of natural disasters such as drought, fire or flood.

Rural Aid’s current campaign asks Aussies to help pay the household bills of drought-affected farmers across Australia.

“Our team has been working closely with Rural Aid to implement BPAY. We are pleased that donors can now use BPAY to donate through their online banking channels, the same way they pay bills using BPAY,” says Keith Brown, BPAY GM Product.

Using BPAY’s unique customer reference number capability, Rural Aid will now be able to quickly identify donors to reconcile payments and issue receipts promptly, addressing a major pain point for Rural Aid.

“This will significantly reduce the time taken to reconcile payments and free up additional time for the business to focus on helping farmers,” says Sarah Hunter, Rural Aid’s interim CEO.
