Beyond Blue talks the importance of mental health with farmer Joe Meggetto

Like many of the nation’s farming community, Gippsland dairy farmer Joe Maggetto has been doing it tough. He’s been farming his property for over a quarter of a century, working long hours seven days a week.

In recent years Meggetto says the day to day pressures have been building up. We paired Meggetto up with Beyond Blue’s Grant Blashki to talk about mental health issues and to explore how to deal with isolation and depression.

Watch the segment [TRIGGER WARNING] This video discusses suicide and mental health issues.

Last year more than 150,000 people in Australia contacted beyondblue about their concerns – both big and small – and you can too.

All calls and chats are one-on-one with a trained mental health professional and completely confidential.

If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health issues you can contact beyondblue on 1300 22 4636 24 hours / 7 days a week.
