When Charlene Maney decided to leave the corporate world behind she dreamed of giving up her 9-5 traditional job for something more flexible so she could base work around caring for her young family. In early 2014, she took the plunge and has never looked back. Her love for beautiful things is evident through her incredible creations.

Perth-based Breidahl Blooms was founded by Rachel Breidahl, who grew up on a farm near Manjimup in the south-west of Western Australia. She says she was heavily influenced by floristry after being surrounded by eucalyptus trees and rose bushes. She is known for her soft, romantic and antique style of roses mixed with native foliage.

Redcliffe City Florist is a family business run by Sonya Johnson which was established 35 years ago. When Sonya was four-years-old, her parents purchased a business, which evolved into a convenient store. They ran this for almost 24 years and during that time, they created a separate floristry and began focussing on this as their main business along with a next door cafe. These have both grown so there are now roughly 20 staff working in both the floristry and the cafe.

New South Wales-based floristry Oh Flora is run by Tanya, who strong passion for everything floral saw her open up her dream business. She is a huge believer in taking cues from nature and incorporating seasonal beauty into her designs. What is her inspiration? Her creativity is sparked by her inspiration for travel, photography art and fashion.

Flowers from Lisa’s was founded in 2000 by Lisa Metten. Her Queensland-based floristry consists of a professional team of 10 local women. It is located in Mackay’s two largest shopping centres and every delivery is done in-house. Her two shops belong to the Interflora network and Lisa’s approach to her products are “If your not happy, then I’m not happy”.
